What is Delta-8?

Delta-8-THC is more similar to Delta-9-THC. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the primary active ingredient in psychoactive cannabis (marijuana). It can induce euphoria, relaxation, pain relief, giddiness, creative moods, or even make you less anxious when ingested… To put it another way, Delta 8 produces the majority, if not all, of the effects usually associated with normal THC.

THC comes in two types, both of which interacts with receptors in our brain and nervous system (the “endocannabinoid system”).

On a molecular level, cannabinoids interact with the human body’s normal endocannabinoid mechanism to influence the body’s and mind’s natural rhythms, including:

  • Sleep cycles
  • Appetite
  • Pain/inflammation signals
  • Reactions to stress
  • Hormonal processes

Every cannabinoid functions in a unique way. CBD is best known for its health benefits, especially in the areas of pain relief and sleep. Delta-9 THC is best known for its appetite stimulation and psychoactive effects, or the ability to get you “high.” Delta-8 THC gives you the best of all worlds, giving you an energizing high while keeping your mind sharp.

Is Delta-8 Legal?

The Farm Bill was signed into law in 2018. All hemp derivatives (cannabinoids, analogs, etc.) are legal in the United States as long as they do not contain more than 0.3 percent THC, according to the law (Delta 9 THC to be specific).

Marijuana compounds are illegal in the United States. This is where the differentiation becomes crucial. When the ingredient is extracted from hemp and the product contains less than 0.3 percent Delta 9 THC, Delta 8 THC wellness items are perfectly legal. When you buy Delta 8 THC from a reputable retailer like Dimo Hemp, you can be certain that it is absolutely safe and legal to use. But you can concentrate on all the benefits you’ll get rather than thinking about whether it’s legal.

Shipping Delta-8 THC derived from hemp is also illegal in some jurisdictions.
